Pirate Senior Madi Sharp put in 16 but it was not enough to overcome the Hicksville Aces in a Thursday night Girls Basketball home non-league game. A close first quarter had the Aces holding the advantage 8-6. It was all Aces in the second quarter as they expanded their lead to 16. Aces 27, Pirates 11 at half. The Pirates won the third quarter but was only able to reduce the Aces lead by 1. Aces 34 Pirates 19 after 3. The Aces finished up on top after a high scoring fourth quarter. Aces 50, Pirates 31.
Madi Sharp led the Pirates with 16 points, 1 made 3 point shot. Katie Keller and Catelyn Etter both had 6 points. Madelyn Potts rounded out the Pirates scoring with 3 points.
The Pirates fall to 0-3 and host Putnam County League Rival Columbus Grove on Tuesday. Hicksville improves to 1-1.
Hicksville won the JV game 16-9. The Pirates are only playing two quarters of JV this season.
