
The following Continental High School Seniors earned Honor Graduate recognition – Congratulations!
Chance Alvarado is the son of Robert and Christi Alvarado. He is an honor graduate, and participated as a Project MORE mentor. He is currently employed at the Continental Subway. After graduation Chance will be attending the University of Findlay majoring in education and mathematics.
Caleb Baker is the son of Christopher and Tammy Baker. He is the vice president of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Caleb participated in varsity track, basketball, and was a co-captain for the varsity soccer team. He ran the light board for the school dramas and musicals and was a volunteer for the Red Cross blood drives. He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FFA, and an editor for the yearbook. Caleb is a member of Bethel Christian Church and has been an active member in his youth group. He has also been involved with the Joni and Friends Family Retreats mission trips in southern Ohio. He currently works at the Bidlack farm and will be attending Eastern Michigan University in the fall to major in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement.
Alicia Dawson is the daughter of Jim McCoy and Denise Dawson. She is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a varsity cheerleading captain and four-year varsity letter recipient. She is the Spanish Club treasurer and a member of the choir. She has been a donor for the Red Cross blood drive. She was a member of the prom committee. Throughout high school she has had many part time jobs and is currently working at Ryley’s Ice Cream. Alicia’s future plans are to attend the University of Findlay and major in diagnostic medical sonography.
Cody Etter is the son of Mark and Brenda Etter. He is president of the FFA and will receive his FFA State Degree in May. He is a member of the National Honor Society. Cody is a member of Dupont Church of the Brethren, where he is also the president of church youth boards. He was an active member of the crew in school musicals and plays. He is also involved in several volunteer activities including canned food drives, Habitat for Humanity, and the Salvation Army at Christmas time. After graduation Cody intends to stay home to work and help operate his family’s farm.
Derek Foy is the son of Michael Foy and Claudine Graham. He is an honor graduate. Derek is a member of Dupont Church of the Brethren where he participates in the youth group. He also attended a mission trip to Joplin, Missouri. Derek is involved in several volunteer activities which include: the Red Cross drive, volunteering at his church’s food pantry, and helping out at the local animal shelters. He volunteers his time to the Meadows of Kalida church services. Derek has been an active piano player for eight years. He has participated in FCCLA meeting event set up at State two years in a row – receiving a gold medal last year. Derek is involved in Boy Scouts and has just received the highest rank in scouting, the Eagle Scout.
Ian Jones is the son of Michael and Pamela Jones. He is an honor graduate and is the treasurer of the National Honor Society. Ian is a member of the Continental High School Band. He is an Eagle Scout and a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow as well as an employee of Camp Lakota. He has attended Buckeye Boys State and is a PSEO student. He is very active in the theatre, being in eight plays and being the lead in three of them. He has been the quiz bowl captain for four years. He has also volunteered at multiple charities, including the Red Cross blood drive and the local food pantry. After graduation Ian will be attending IPFW for Freshman Engineering.
Andrea Krendl is the daughter of Joe and Cindy Krendl. She is president of the National Honor Society, vice president of the senior class, and secretary of the FFA. She participated in varsity track and soccer, and was a Captain of the soccer team. Andrea is a member of the Continental High School Band and is section leader of the trumpets. She has been active in Quiz Bowl and the school musicals. Andrea has participated in several volunteer activities including Relay For Life, Salvation Army, and Red Cross blood drives. She is also a piano student and student tutor. She is a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and Choir in Sherwood. After graduation, Andrea will be attending The Ohio State University, majoring in Animal Science, and applying to the Veterinary program at OSU.
Makenzie Mansfield is the daughter of Kip and Jeannie Mansfield. She is president of the Student Council and secretary of the National Honor Society. Makenzie is a member of Trinity Friends church. She has participated in varsity track and varsity soccer, where she was a team captain. She is also a member of the fall play and spring musical crews, FCCLA, Quiz Bowl team, and school leadership group. Makenzie is also involved in several volunteer organizations, including the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and NextStep Ministries. After graduation, Makenzie will be attending the University of Toledo where she will major in Exercise Science. She plans to further her education in medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon.
Jasmin Moats is the daughter of Valerie Paniagua and Raymond Moats. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Club. Her activities have included junior varsity softball and quiz bowl. She was also a Project MORE mentor and a member of student council during her junior year. She also volunteers for the Red Cross blood drive. She is currently employed as a babysitter and will be attending The University of Northwestern Ohio majoring in Business.
Alysha Moran is the daughter of Jamie Clemens and Ben Moran. She is an honor graduate and a member of the National Technical Honor Society at Vantage Career Center. She is also a student ambassador at Vantage and helped with the food drive for the Salvation Army. She was enrolled in health technology for two years at Vantage and received her STNA as a junior. She is currently employed at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford as a nurse’s aide. She is also a blood donor for the American Red Cross. After graduation Alysha will be attending Rhodes State College majoring in Registered Nursing.
Julie Rhees is the daughter of Rick and Sheila Rhees. She is a participant of quiz bowl, past member of the High School Marching Band and Orchestra, as well as an office aide. She has received Honorable Mention Awards in County Art shows for three separate artworks. Julie is also a local elementary and middle school math tutor after school. She is currently employed part-time at Rhees’ Market and is attending Bowling Green State University in the fall to major in Integrated Social Studies Teaching.
Christina Sarka is the daughter of Scott and Kelly Sarka. She is a member of the Dupont Church of the Brethren. She participated in varsity soccer in which she received the PCL Scholar Athlete award. She is a Project MORE mentor and a blood donor for the American Red Cross. She was active in the prom committee, Spanish Club, junior class concessions, Relay for Life, and community clean-up day. Her future plans include attending the University of Saint Francis in Ft. Wayne, Indiana majoring in Nursing. She then plans on becoming an OB/GYN Physician Assistant.
McKenna Scott is the daughter of Steve and Tabbetha Scott. She is on the honor roll and is the senior class president. McKenna is a member of Free Christian Church of God and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Her activities include varsity soccer, basketball, cheerleading, and softball. She was a captain for the soccer, basketball, and softball teams. She helps coach the Mini Pirate Basketball and Mini Pirate Cheerleaders. McKenna was also active in the school musicals and plays. She is also a member of the high school choir. After graduation McKenna will be attending Northwest State Community College majoring in Registered Nursing.
Joey Swager is the son of Loren and Joni Swager. He is an honor graduate. Joey is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was captain of both the varsity soccer and basketball teams. He is a student mentor at Continental High School. Joey is a member of the Continental United Methodist Church and Youth Group. Joey plays club soccer for the Ohio Extreme. He is a blood drive donor and helper, and helps with the local food pantry. He also helped with the CHS senior wood drive project. Joey organized a student toy drive for Toys for Tots and is an Eagle Scout. After graduation, Joey will be attending Trine University and majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
