With extreme cold temperatures coming, please make sure you check on your dog. If you have an outside dog, please try to bring them into a garage/shed where it is a little warmer. Check on the dog’s water bowl as it will freeze quickly. Have plenty of straw in and around the dog house as well as some type of windbreak, if possible. A heat lamp might work as well but beware of potential fire hazard. I realize that some dogs do not like being inside and would rather stay outside but try to bring them in if you can. If it’s cold for you to be outside, then it is probably cold for your dog.
