Glandorf Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory Over Continental B-League

Continental Elementary Pirates B-League watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 17-4 loss to Glandorf on Tuesday.

Glandorf fired up the offense in the first inning scoring 4 on one triple and two singles, and one run in the second inning when Leopold hit an inside the park home run on a line drive to deep center.

Continental’s Ashton Donaldson gained the team’s first hit in the top of the forth with a single and an RBI bringing Braxton Pitney across home plate.

Glandorf scored nine runs in the fourth inning.  Patrick and Mathews led the inning with inside the part home runs scoring 2 and 1 respectively.

Continental scored two in the 5th on a triple pop fly to deep center by Weston Dockery scoring Brandt Jones and Ryker Winkle, and one more in the 6th to make up Continental’s 4 when Winkle walks, advancing Donaldson across home plate.

Jones was on the hill for Continental Elementary Pirates. The bulldog allowed four hits and four runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking two.  Dane Heitzman and Braxton Pitney entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one and one-third innings respectively.  Heitzman allowed 5 hits and 4 runs, striking out 5 and 0 walks while Pitney allowed 4 hits and 4 runs, and 4 walks, striking out 0.

Dockery, Donaldson, and Jones each managed one hit to lead Continental Elementary Pirates.
