OHSAA will be using a Score Differential (Mercy Rule) again this year. If at any time in the second half the score differential gets beyond 35 points a running clock will be in effect. If the score differential then gets to less than 30 points standard timing will be in effect. During the running clock portion the clock will only be stopped for timeouts, injuries, or when there is an necessary delay deemed by the officials.
Other notes passed along by the OHSAA.
Failure of the home team to where WHITE uniforms (not gray or yellow) will result in a technical assessed against the coach.
Length of warmup before the game is 20 minutes.
Teams are limited to 18 people on the bench (includes players, coaches, managers, trainers etc.) In addition there are 5 players on the court so a total of 23 in the “bench area”. Teams are limited to 15 dressed players, they can differ from game to game. Teams are allowed 8 cheerleaders and 1 mascot.
Announcing of teams. You are allowed to turn off the lights and use a spot light when introducing the players but whatever is done for one team must be done for the other (this is more for areas where higher seeds host early round games). Teams are to be announced in accordance to OHSAA Tournament introduction script.
