Memorial Day Services @ Cloverdale & Continental – May 30, 2022

May 28, 2022 by Adam Donaldson

Memorial Day has come to signify the start of summer for many Americans and often celebrated with cookouts, family get-togethers and concerts. But the real meaning of Memorial Day has, for too many Americans, gotten lost in holiday hoopla.

Memorial Day is a day of reflection and remembrance. It is a day to remember all of our Fallen Heroes from all of the wars. It is a day to think about the families that will forever grieve for their lost loved one. It is a day to be thankful to those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice. They fought and died to win the freedom and democracy that we Americans cherish so dearly.

We will be honoring their memory and saluting their struggles toward maintaining peace and liberty. Let us not forget the men and women that are still fighting for our freedom around the world.

Remember to lower your flag to half-mast at sunrise and at 12 o’clock noon, raise it to full staff.

We invite everyone to join us for our Memorial Day services on May 30th, 2022, to join us in honoring our departed heroes. Chairs will be available.

At Cloverdale, the service will be at 10:00am at the Flower Garden on Mahoning Street.

The Memorial service at Continental will be on the south side of the American Legion Hall at 11:15am.

Post 541 Legionnaires, their spouses and the spouses of our deceased Legion members are invited to breakfast from 8am – 9:15am at the Legion and also lunch following the memorial service in Continental.

See you on Memorial Day at one or both of the services.
