It was all Panthers on Saturday as Continental High Girls basketball hosted Paulding in a non league afternoon game. The Panthers took an early lead with a free throw and a basket. The Pirates made it a 1 point game on a Makenzie Shock basket. Panthers 3-2. A trio of Panther baskets pushed their lead to 7, 9-2. Olivia Crossgrove scored a basket for the Pirates to make it 9-5. The Panthers would go on a 10 point run to put their first half total at 19 while the Pirates closed out the scoring on a Makenzie Shock basket. Panthers 19-6 after 1. A basket by the Panthers was followed up by a Morgan Shock basket to make it Panthers 21-8. The Panthers would close out the half on a 16 point run. Panthers 37-8 at half. The Panthers would put in 13 points of the second half to open up a 50-8 lead. The Pirates would close out the third quarter scoring with a pair of Makenzie Shock baskets. Panther 50-12 after 3. A low scoring fourth quarter went the Panthers way 4-2 with the Pirates getting a pair of free throw from Crossgrove. Panthers 54-14 final.
Makenzie Shock led the Pirates with 8 points, Olivia Crossgrove scored 4 and Morgan Schock 2. The Pirates were a perfect 4-4 from the line.
Continental falls to 0-18 and will host Wayne Trace on Tuesday. Paulding improves to 8-9.
