Continental Elementary students Denali Hiltner and Ashton Donaldson were both awarded the American Legion Auxiliary Good Deed Award. Denali won a camera at school, as she already had this camera, she raffled it off to raise money to give her elementary school mates an ice cream party with the leftover funds going to the Legion Auxiliary who, in turn, provided a local 4-H club with flag poles for their flags. Ashton completed a Flag Retirement Box project. He raffled off a Blackstone griddle to raise funds to puchase a metal box and contracted for a patriotic wrap to be made and applied to the box which is now located in the Canteen entrance. Congratulations to these young leaders in our community!
The meal was catered by Black Angus and Al’s All Mixed Up Band provided musical entertainment. Legion member Len Collier was able to take the stage and entertain the crowd with a few songs.
