7/9/2020 — From the Putnam County Health Department:
Putnam County has moved up to Level 2 (Orange) on the Public Health Advisory System. This means that we have met three of the seven indicators that are currently used to determine advisory levels for COVID-19. The data shows a sustained increase in COVID-19 cases in the community and the majority of cases are in individuals who are not in a congregate setting (such as a nursing home). This indicates that there is an increase in community spread and the source of infection is not known.
Please be reminded that the following precautions can help reduce the spread of disease:
*Wash hands frequently or use hand sanitizer
*Practice social distancing
*Wear a face covering when in public places
*Stay home if feeling sick
*Avoid touching your face (eyes, nose, mouth)
*Clean frequently touched surfaces often
Help reduce community spread. We can do this!
