Visiting Tigers Take Home the Win

September 18, 2023 by Adam Donaldson Leave a Comment

On Saturday if you were late to the Continental Liberty Center Girls Soccer game you missed all the scoring.  The visiting Tigers got on the scoreboard just under 3 minutes into the game when they converted a penalty kick.  The Pirates tied the game at 1 all with 27:47 left in the half when Makenzie Shock hit hit the back of the net off a Morgan Shock pass.  The Tigers would take the lead for good less than 2 minutes later.  The Tigers expanded their lead to 2, 3-1, with 16:22 left in the left.  The Tigers would score their 4th goal of the half with 11:30 left in the half.  Tigers 4-1 at half.  Neither team hit the back of the net in the second half.  Tigers 4-1 final.
Pirate goalie Makenzie Niese took the loss in the net and had 5 saves.  The Tigers goalie had 8 saves.  The Pirates had 11 shots (8 shots on goal) while the Tigers had 15 shots (9 on goal).  The two teams both had 5 corner kicks.  Continental had 8 fouls to Liberty Center 7.  The Pirates were called offsides once.
Continental falls to 4-5 and will host Coldwater on Tuesday.  Liberty Center (who is in the Pirates DIII Evergreen District) improves to 4-3.
