
On Saturday if you were late to the Continental Liberty Center Girls Soccer game you missed all the scoring. The visiting Tigers got on the scoreboard just under 3 minutes into the game when they converted a penalty kick. The Pirates tied the game at 1 all with 27:47 left in the half when Makenzie Shock hit hit the back of the net off a Morgan Shock pass. The Tigers would take the lead for good less than 2 minutes later. The Tigers expanded their lead to 2, 3-1, with 16:22 left in the left. The Tigers would score their 4th goal of the half with 11:30 left in the half. Tigers 4-1 at half. Neither team hit the back of the net in the second half. Tigers 4-1 final.
Pirate goalie Makenzie Niese took the loss in the net and had 5 saves. The Tigers goalie had 8 saves. The Pirates had 11 shots (8 shots on goal) while the Tigers had 15 shots (9 on goal). The two teams both had 5 corner kicks. Continental had 8 fouls to Liberty Center 7. The Pirates were called offsides once.
Continental falls to 4-5 and will host Coldwater on Tuesday. Liberty Center (who is in the Pirates DIII Evergreen District) improves to 4-3.
