William H. “Toad” Ladd, 1947 – 2023

CLOVERDALE – William H. “Toad” Ladd, 75, of Cloverdale, passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Vancrest of Delphos.  He was born July 24, 1947, in Cloverdale to the late William Henry and Lavaun (Donnell) Ladd.

  Toad is survived by a sister-in-law: Carol Ladd of Cloverdale, a brother-in-law: Darrell Thrasher of Defiance; three nephews: Daniel Ladd of Lima, Chad (Crystal) Adkins of Findlay, and Craig Adkins of Ottoville; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; his beloved dog, Diesel; and many friends.

  He is preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Ladd and Paul Edward Ladd; a sister: Miriam Thrasher; and nephew: Allen Thrasher.

  Toad retired from Philips, formerly of Ottawa.  He was a member of the Cloverdale Community Club.  He enjoyed sitting on his front porch listen to music and talking with his friends. Toad was a huge fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State.

  A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor Joshua Hall officiating.  A visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Cascade Cemetery, Cloverdale.

  Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
