The first accumulating snow of the season is expected in our area this weekend.
• Snow is expected to move into northwest portions of the area late Friday night and continue Saturday… before tapering off to snow showers Saturday night and Sunday… while along and southeast of U.S. Rte 24 the precipitation should be a mix of rain and snow through the day Saturday… ending as snow showers Saturday night.
• A wet snow is expected… which should initially melt on paved surfaces. .. but by Saturday evening slick roads are possible… mainly across northwest portions of the area.
• Total snowfall is expected to range from up to 5 inches in southwest Michigan… to less than an inch along and south of U.S. Rte 24.
• West to northwest winds gusting to 25 mph are expected Saturday night with highs only in the lower 30s on Sunday.
• Given that the storm is still around two days away… considerable uncertainty remains in exact snowfall amounts. Please continue to check the latest forecasts over the next couple of days.
