Smith Plans Annual Swim for DYS

January 16, 2016 by Karen Donaldson

Don Smith, Continental Ohio

Don Smith, Volunteer and Fundraiser, raises money for Diabetes Youth Services every year by swimming on his birthday – his gift to DYS.

2016 will mark Don’s 67th birthday and his 13th annual swim. Once again, he will swim 300 lengths for our children. Don has raised over $150,000 for DYS programs including Camps, School Support and other educational programs for children with Type 1 diabetes. This year, the goal is to raise $35,000 for the children we serve – and with your help, Don can exceed this goal!

Diabetes Youth Services is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is “Teaching local children to manage their diabetes every day until there is a cure. Supporting families, preventing complications and improving lives.”

Helping Don with this fundraiser will make you and/or your organization an integral part of providing life-changing events and education for children living with this chronic disease. Thank you in advance for your support of Don and for your gift to our organization. Please visit our website at www.dys4kids.org to learn how your donation helps!

Until the cure,
Mary Beth Alberti
Executive Director
