In September of 2015, Continental Schools received their occupancy permit for the new bus garage. The new garage is 6 bays with an over-sized 7th bay that can hold 2 buses and serve as a heated wash bay. Although the old bus garage has been maintained well over the years, the dimensions of the building and the garage doors became too small for new buses being purchased to fit in the garage. The old bus garage is currently being used for storage and also housing older spare buses, but other options are also being considered for future use. Buses are a high expense item, and keeping them out of the elements helps to extend their life. The cost for a new bus currently runs almost $90,000. Thank you to the voters of the Continental Local School district for passing levies that allow the administration to secure and maintain the district’s investments!
