As a public service announcement, Michael Lenhart, Putnam County Engineer, would like to inform the public of the upcoming road closures at the intersection of Road M and State Route 65. The Putnam County Engineer’s office is working in cooperation with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to improve the entire intersection starting Tuesday, May 17, 2016. ODOT will be providing the materials and the County will be doing the construction. Work will begin on the west side of SR 65 on the 17th and could last two to three weeks, weather permitting. After the west approach is completed, Road M will be closed between SR 65 and Old SR 65 to begin working on the east approach. The County will also be working with the D, T & I Railroad at this same time. The railroad will be improving their rail crossing and the County will be doing the asphalt paving. Work is scheduled to be completed by the middle to the end of June. We would like to thank the public for their patience during this project as all the entities involved work together to improve this heavily travelled intersection.
