Paige Lawhorn and Jacob Williams will be competing for the Pirates at the Division III Regional Track Meet in Tiffin. Paige advanced in both the Ayersville Division III Girls 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles while Jacob Williams moves on in the Ayersville Division III Boys 400m. Paige was 3rd in the 100m hurdles and fourth in the 300m hurdles while Jacob was fourth in the 400m. The top four in each event move onto Regionals. The OHSAA Division III District finals were held on Saturday at Ayersville.
The Pirates came close to advancing in 4 events as the Boys team had 4 fifth place finishes. Senior Sam Bowers did not advance but came close 3 times as he was fifth in the 100m, 200m, and part the fifth place 4x400m relay team (Sam Bower, Garrett Recker, Christian Keller, Jacob Williams). Garrett Recker placed fifth in the 1600m.
The Pirate girls placed 16th as a team with 11 points. Archbold won the Ayersville Girls District with 107 points. The Pirate Boys placed 9th as a team with 27 points. Liberty Center won the Ayersville Boys district with 115 points. Paige and Jacob will run at the Tiffin Division III Regional on Wednesday May 25 at 5 pm in preliminaries. Finals of the Tiffin Regional will be held on Friday May 27 at 6pm. Good Luck Paige and Jacob!
