Kim L. Epple, 1956 – 2016

Kim L. Epple, 60, of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

She was born on August 28, 1956 to Simon and Violet (Goodwin) Ankney in Paulding County, Ohio. In 1978 she married Terrance Epple, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2002.

Kim was a former member of First Church of Christ. She was a member of the AMVETS and Moose in Defiance. She loved music, and she performed with various bands in the Defiance area. She enjoyed caring for her daughter Sarah, she loved her animals, and spending time with her grandchildren. Kim enjoyed singing, gardening, and writing music.

Kim will be sadly missed by her family; son, Zachary Epple, daughters, Sarah Epple, and Melanie (Dan Hamminga) Epple, all of Defiance, 3 Grandchildren; Austin, Timothy, and Lillian Epple, brothers, Jim (Ruth) Ankney of Pleasant Bend, Ohio, David Ankney of Defiance, Dennis (Rosie) Ankney of Hicksville, Daniel (Jodi) Ankney, and Bill Ankney, all of Defiance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Terrance Epple, and brother, Thomas Ankney.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Rev. Perry Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
