Continental High School 2020 Girls Soccer season has the addition of Delta to the mix of games while Paulding and Bryan are not on the schedule. The Pirates open up at home on August 29 with Riverdale. The Pirates play 5 consecutive Saturdays starting with the home opener then with games at Delphos Jefferson (September 5), Defiance (September 12), and hosting Northwood (September 19) and Miller City (September 26). The Pirates open up the Putnam County League schedule at Fort Jennings on September 8. Delta appears on the schedule on September 14 with a Pirate road trip. The Pirates will have Senior Night on October 15 against Van Buren.
COVID changes announced so far effecting soccer include only Pregame conference moved to center field with each team having 1 coach and Captain attending meeting with no handshakes. Pregame introductions will be done with Players in position on the field and no pregame handshakes. No post game handshakes. Bench players are to be spread 6 feet apart.
The OHSAA’s fall sports of field hockey, soccer and football have been determined to be high-contact sports and the OHSAA continues to work with the Governor’s Office and the Ohio Department of Health toward modified protocols for those three sports to have contests.
