Continental High 2023-2024 Basketball season ended in an OHSAA DIV Elida District Sectional Semifinal at Crestview. The Elida District featured 3 Putnam County League teams (Pandora Gilboa, Miller City and Ottoville) and Delphos St Johns. The District Finals was a matchup between a pair of AP Division IV ranked team as #11 Pandora Gilboa defeated #6 Delphos St Johns. The Rockets season ended in the Bowling Green Regional Semi final where #1 Toledo Christian advanced on. Lima Central Catholic claimed the Bowling Green Regional. Richmond Heights took the State DIV crown. This season marked a pair of major changes in Northwest Ohio. First all Sectional games were held at better seeded sites. Second, the last year for only 4 division, next year boys basketball will be 7 divisions.
Jonathon Etter and Carson Etter were both named to the Putnam County League Honorable Mention. Pandora Gilboa was the PCL Champion with an undefeated league record. The Rockets Aiden Harris was PCL Player of the Year and Coach Mike Lee PCL Coach of the Year.
Ottawa Glandorf made it to the Division III State Final 4 where their season ended with a loss to Harvest Prep 61-59. Cleveland Heights Lutheran East claimed the DIII crown. Titan Collin White was named DIII Co-Player of the Year sharing the award with Jesse McCulloch, Cleveland Heights Lutheran East. White was named to the DIII All State first team while teammate Caden Erford was named to the DIII All State Honorbale Mention. White, a Senior, capped off the 2023-23 award by being named Mr. Basketball. White will continue his playing career at the Ohio State University.
Jacob Roeth, Grandson of Continental High graduates Roxy and David Chivington was named to the DIII All State third team. Jacob was named to the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Academic All Ohio Division III first team. Jacob will continue his playing career at Wittenburg University.
