Taking advantage of having the Putnam County League Girls basketball teams spread out over 2 divisions and 3 districts allowed for 3 PCL teams to make Regional trips while Ottawa Glandorf in DV joins the group.
DVII Elida Regional
Kalida and Ottoville advanced to the Elida Regional. #3 seed Kalida advanced out of the Ottawa Glandorf District with a 58-40 win over #2 seed McComb. #1 seed Ottoville advanced out of the Elida District with a 73-32 win over #3 seed Pandora Gilboa. Ottoville 23-2 will take on Bryan District winner Hilltop 19-3 on Tuesday at 6:00. Kalida 17-6 will take on Fostoria District winner Tiffin Calvert 21-4 on Tuesday at 8:00. Elida Regional finals are on Saturday at Noon.
DVI Bluffton University Regional
Columbus Grove advanced to the Bluffton University Regional. They are the PCL lone DVI team. #2 seed Columbus Grove advanced out of the Van Wert District with a 55-43 win over #1 seed Crestview. Columbus Grove 23-2 will take on Margaretta 20-5 out of the Willard District on Thursday at 8:00. Patrick Henry 24-1 and Carey 18-6 make up the other portion of the bracket. Regional Finals will be held on Saturday at 6:00
DV Ridgedale Regional
Ottawa Glandorf advanced to the Ridgedale Regional. #1 seed Ottawa Glandorf advanced out of the Defiance District with a 45-32 win over #4 seed Paulding. Ottawa Glandorf 22-0 will take on Johnstown 21-3 out of the Old Dominion District on Wednesday at 6:00. Africentric 18-7 and Clear Fork 22-3 make up the other portion of the bracket. Regionals Finals are Saturday at 2:00.
For those wondering, the Ridgedale facility was built in the late 1970s around the same time Continental built their gym.
