
Continental finished the 2017 season with one of the best records in Volleyball history at Continental as they won 16 games and lost 7. At one point the Pirates had an 11-1 streak. Continental ended up 4th seed in the Ottawa-Glandorf sectional and were defeated in the sectional final by Lima Central Catholic 3-0. The T-birds advanced to the District finals where they were defeated by Ada.
The Putnam County League ended up with 3 teams ranked in the top 20 in the state (OHSVCA Division IV). PCL Champ Ottoville was ranked 3rd, Leipsic was ranked 7, and Columbus Grove 19. Columbus Grove and Ottoville both advanced to the Ottawa-Glandorf District Semifinals where they were eliminated by LCC and Ada. Ada lost the Regional Semifinal at Elida to Buckeye Central 3-1.
Ottoville got placed in the tough Van Wert district where 6 of the top 20 teams in the state (OHSVCA Division IV) were assigned. This District had the #1,2,3,5,9,and 17 ranked teams. Ottoville, seeded #4, made it to the District Semifinals where they swept by #1 seed and #1 ranked New Bremen. New Bremen made it out of the Clayton (South West Region) to the State Tournament held at Wright State. New Bremen won the State Tournament by taking Louisville St Thomas Aquinas 3-0.
Ottawa Glandorf made it to the Kalida Division III District Finals where they were eliminated by Coldwater 3-0. Coldwater did not lose a game in the Tournament until the State Finals where they met fellow Midwest Athletic Conference foe Versailles. Versailles won the Division III crown 3-2. This gave the MAC a sweep of the two lower Volleyball divisions.
