On Tuesday the Putnam County League Baseball game with Pandora Gilboa was moved from Pandora to Continental making the Pirates the visitors on their home field. After holding the Pirates scoreless in the top of the game the Rockets scored 4 runs in their half. The Pirates made it 4-1 after the top of the second only to have the Rockets put on 3 in their half. Rockets 7-1 after 2. A scoreless 3rd was followed by the Rockets putting on 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th. Rockets 12-1 after 4. The Pirates attempted to extend the game but could only plate 1 run in the 5th. Rockets 12-2 final.
Newsome took the loss for the Pirates giving up 7 runs (1 earned) in 3.2 innings getting 5 strikeouts. Nunez pitched 1.1 innings and got 1 strikeout. Shepard and Rue had singles for the Pirates. Shepard and Dockery both scored a run while Dockery and Sullivan each drove in 1 run.
Continental falls to 0-3 (0-3 PCL) the Pirates will play at McComb on Thursday. Pandora Gilboa improves to 1-2 (1-2 PCL).
