Bulldogs With a Late Rally Defeat Pirate Baseball

Thursday night Continental hosted Edgerton Baseball in non league action.  The Bulldogs took the early lead by plating 3 runs in the top of the first.  The Pirates put a run on in their half of the first.  Bulldogs 3-1 after 1.  The Bulldogs would add another run to their total in the top of the second to take a 4-1 lead.  The Pirates would cut into the Bulldogs lead by plating 2 in their half of the second.  Bulldogs 4-3 after 2.  The Pirates would tie the score with a run in the bottom of the third.  The Bulldogs would take the lead with 2 runs in the sixth and 2 more in the seventh.  Bulldogs 8-4 winner.
Haden Streicher led the Pirates offense with a triple and single, drove in and scored a run, walked, and stole a base.  Quinn Tegenkamp hit 2 singles and stole a base.  Jayden Pitney hit a single, drove in and scored a run, and stole a base.  Jackson Bidlack hit a double, earned a walk and stole a base.  Nolan Cordes walked, scored and drove in a run, and stole a base.  Rhettik Bowers walked and scored a run.  Keenan Bowers hit a single.
Quinn Tegenkamp started the Pirates on the mound going 3 innings, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, 2 strikeouts and 2 walks.  Jayden Pitney pitched in relief and took the loss going 3 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.  Nolan Cordes pitched 1 inning in relief and walked 1 batter.  Both teams committed 1 error.  The Pirates were out hit 13-7.
Coach Keck: Player of the game is Reid Tegenkamp for his defensive efforts all game. Continental falls to 5-17.  Edgerton improves to 11-10-1.
