Continental High Track and Field team advanced 2 relay teams and 5 individual events on Thursday and Saturday at the DV Ayersville Regional Meet. The Pirates were led by Junior Grant Clementz who moved on in 4 events. Grant placed third in both the Boys 200M and 400M and fourth in the 100M. Grant anchored the third place 4x200M and will move on with this event along with Junior Collin Hammond, Senior Tyson Clementz, and Junior Preston Wilson. The Boys 4×400 took fourth place with Sophomore Luke Miler, Collin Hammond, Junior Evan Strickler, and Tyson Clementz moving on. The Girls advanced 2 to Regionals on Thursday as Junior Kaylee Boecker placed 3rd in the Pole Vault and Sophomore Cassie Pier placed 4th in the Shot Put. The Pirates Boys placed in 6 additional events while the Girls in 1. Overall The Boys team placed 6th with 42 points, Crestview won the Boys title with 113 points. The Girls placed 17th with 12 points. Antwerp won the Girls team title with 99 points.
The Pirates did place 7 other events. Congratulations to Seniors Camren Burgei, Tyson Clementz, Derek Diltz, Japheth Ndenab, and Brady Thomsen on an excellent season and good luck on future endeavors. Senior Tyson Clementz will run in 2 relays in Fostoria Regional on Thursday and Saturday. Brady Thomsen closes out his Pirate career as he fell short of moving on. His Discus throw of 159′ would have won two other North West Districts and placed third in the other.
