On Tuesday Continental High Girls Basketball led Hicksville at all the quarter breaks except the last one. The visiting Pirates came out and took the first quarter 10-9. An even 9 all second quarter had the Pirates with a 19-18 lead at half. The Pirates padded their lead in the third by outscoring the Aces 10-8 for a 29-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Aces out scored the Pirates by 4 in the fourth to take the 37-36 win.
Continental was led by Ava Sheeter with 18 points while Olivia Crossgrove put in 8 points. Makenzie Shock add 6 and Ashlyn Dudgeon 4. Shock made a 3 pointer for the Pirates. Crossgrove 15 and Tori Searfoss 11 led the Pirates rebounding effort. Sheeter had 5 assists while Crossgrove blocked 7 shots.
Continental falls to 0-2 and will travel to Columbus Grove on Tuesday for their Putnam County League opener. Hicksvill improves to 1-1.
