
Friday night Continental High Boys Basketball faced a second Green Meadows Conference foe this season as Fairview rolled into town. The Apaches were on fire from the 3 point line as they put in 10 to take control of the game. A great start by the Pirates had them put in the first basket as Nolan Cordes hit to give the Pirates the early 2-0 lead. A basket by the Apaches tied the game. A Tyson Clementz basket put the Pirates back up 4-2. An Apache basket was followed by a Collin Hammond basket. Pirates 6-4. The Apaches first 3 was followed by a Monty Rayle 3. Pirates 9-7 lead. The Apaches would take a 12-9 when they hit a pair of baskets and a free throw. Preston Wilson would hit a 3 and the game was tied at 12. An Apache basket finished off the first quarter. Apaches 14-12 after 1. The second quarter saw the Apaches hit five 3s but it was the Pirates who scored first when Hammond hit a basket to tie the game at 14. An Apache 3 was followed by a Cordes 3 and the score was tied at 17. The Apaches would score 15 of the next 19 points as the Pirates would get a basket from Cordes and Haden Streicher. Apaches 32-21. An Apache 3 and a pair of Rayle free throws made the score 35-23 heading into the locker room. A slowed scoring pace marked the third quarter as both teams combined for 13 points. The Apaches took the quarter 8-5 with the Piraters getting a basket and a free throw from Rayle and a basket from Clementz. Apaches 43-28 after 3. The third quarter saw the Apaches hit 3 more 3 pointers and score 20 points while limiting the Pirates to 10. Rayle scored 7 with a 3 pointer, Hammond 2 and Cordes 1. Apaches 63-38 final
Monty Rayle led the Pirates with 15 points making a pair of 3s. Nolan Cordes scored 8 and made one 3. Collin Hammond scored 6. Tyson Clementz scored 4. Preston Wilson hit a 3. Haden Streicher scored 2. The Pirates made four 3s while the Apaches made ten 3s. The Pirates were 8-12 from the line while the Apaches were 9-12. Continental falls to 1-3 while Fairview improves to 2-1.
