A big third inning by Fairview Baseball propelled them to a non league win over visiting Continental High. The Pirates would put up a run on their first at bats and followed it up with another run in the top to second to make it 2-0. The Apaches would rally in the second to tie the game at 2. A Pirate run would put them back in front 3-2 but Fairview would finish off the game’s scoring in the bottom to the third as they would plate 11 runs to take a 13-3 lead. Apaches 13-3 final.
Hunter Rue took the loss for the Pirates as he gave up 10 runs (9 earned) on 7 hits in 2.1 innings. Rue struck out 3 Apaches. Ethan Sullivan finished the game on the mound for the Pirates. The Pirates picked up 4 hits with Alex Heidenescher hitting a double.
Continental falls to 0-7 and will travel to Antwerp on Monday. Fairview improves to 5-6.
