Antwerp scored 8 of the first 9 as the opened up an early lead against the Pirates in a Saturday night battle at the Range. Although the Pirates battled back to tie it 8-8 during the first, the Archers put in the last 6 for a 14-8 Archer advantage at the end of 1. The second quarter was all Antwerp as the Archers scored 13 while holding the Pirates to 4. Archers 27-12 at half. The Pirates made adjustments at half and came out to score the 7 of the first 9 points to tighten the score 29-19 before the Archers stopped the run. When the third quarter was over the Archers had a 12 point lead 37-25. Although the Pirates outscored the Archers 15-13 in the fourth, the Archers had the better final score 50-40.
Wade Stauffer lead the Pirates with 13 pints while Joey Swager added on 8. Gabe Williams scored 7, Jacob Williams 5, Trevor Williamson 3, Tyler Brecht 2 and Derek Troyer 2.
Archers also won the JV game 37-30.
The Pirates are off till after Christmas when they travel to McComb for a Saturday December 27 match. JV start time for this contest is 6:00.
