Limaland Area Sportcaster Vince Koza passed away on Friday morning following a 3 month battle with Stage 4 cancer. Vince had been covering the Lima area since he moved here following graduation from Ohio University in 1980. Vince spent many years as part of the WLIO sports, director and then moved over to radio, most recently 93.1 The Fan. Vince could have easily focused on just the Lima and Allen County sports as his coverage area but was well known to many of the Continental fans as he would routinely interview Pirate coaches before or after big games. A number of Saturdays was spent listening to Vince on the radio waiting for an interview with Coach Homier during State Tournament runs. Please keep the Vince Koza family, friends and fans in your thoughts.
