On Monday Continental hosted Putnam County League rival Ottoville. The Big Green were the only one to put runs on the board as the Pirates battled to the end. The Big Green started by plating the game’s first two runs in the second inning. Another run in the third made it 3-0 Big Green. The score remained 3-0 till the 7th when the Big Green put the game away by scoring 4 additional runs. Big Green 7, Pirates 0.
Nick States started for the Pirates and took the loss. He went 4 innings and gave up three runs. The Pirates managed only one hit, a single by Dillon Coleman.
Continental is now 0-2, 0-1 PCL and will travel to McComb on Thursday for a nonleague game. Ottoville improves to 2-1, 1-0 PCL.
