
Ayersville 5, Pirates 1
A late Pirate rally fell short as the Pilots scored 2 runs in the third and a pair in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. The Pirates scored one run late but that was not enough in the Pilot 5-1 win. Konnor Okuley had a pair of singles for the Pirates while Jacob Williams had a double.
Montpelier 18, Pirates 14
In a game that had big momentum changes it was the Locomotives that prevailed. The Locomotives took a 3 run lead after 1 which the Pirates battled back with 4 in the top of the second for a Pirate 4-3 lead. A pair of runs by Montpelier gave then back the lead 5-4 after 2 innings. The Pirates put on 3 in the top of the third to gain a 7-5 advantage. The Pirates expanded the lead to 6 thanks to 4 runs in the top of the 5th for an 11-5 lead. In the bottom of the sixth the Locomotives put across 13 runs to take a 18-11 lead. The Pirates plated 3 in the top of the seventh for a 18-14 Locomotive final.
Chris Potts took the loss for the Pirates while Trevor Brecht and Brady Dockery also pitched. The Pirates had 16 hits. Brady Dockery had 4 singles, Gannon Prowant and Jarrett Keck both has 3 singles, Konnor Okuley has a pair of singles, Chris Potts hit a triple and Nick States has a double.
The Pirates fall to 2-10 while Ayersville is 7-8 and Montepelier is 6-7. Continental host Miller City on Monday night in a Putnam County Leage game.
