
Strong pitching by the Continental High Baseball team did not result in a Pirate victory as the Pirates staff gave up 1 run earned run in the 10-2 loss to visiting Ottoville. The Big Green opened the game with a single run in the top of the first but saw the Pirates tie the game in the bottom of the 3rd. 1-1 after 3. The Big Green would plate 5 runs in the 4th and 3 more in the 5th to take a 9-1 lead. The Pirates would score 1 run in their half of the 5th to make it 9-2. The Big Green would score the only additional run in the 7th for the 10-2 win.
Sam Newsome started for the Pirates and took the loss. Newsome pitched 5 inning giving up 9 runs (1 earned) 5 hits and had 3 strikeouts. Hunter Rue finished the game giving up 1 run (0 earned) on 2 hits in 2 innings.
