The Continental High Boys basketball team finished the season at 3-19 but look for an optimistic future as the starting lineup at times featured 3 sophomores and 2 freshmen. The Pirates saw their season end in a Division IV Elida District sectional semifinal to Lima Central Catholic 65-27 at Van Wert. This was the first time that the Thunderbirds have been in the small school tournament. The Thunderbirds season would end in the sectional finals as Delphos St Johns eliminated them. Crestview advanced out of the Van Wert Sectional to the Elida District Finals. Putnam County League Champion Kalida advanced from Paulding as the other team in the District finals. The District finals had Crestview moving on to the BGSU Regional in a 62-58 double overtime thriller over the Wildcats.
Greeting Crestview at the BGSU Regional was a pair of teams from the Pirates schedule. Putnam County League rival Columbus Grove had advanced out of the Findlay District while Hicksville moved on from the Napoleon District. Crestview eliminated Hicksville in the Regional Semifinal 58-42 while Columbus Grove was eliminated by Maumee Valley Country Day 58-48. Crestview would advance to state with a 66-49 win over the Hawks.
The Crestview Knights would take the state crown defeating Richmond Heights 59-49 and Berlin Highland 58-38.
