The Pirate faithful should be happy with the OHSAA Division III Kalida District draw. The Pirates entered the draw with a 4-8-2 record and garnered the #6 seed. The Pirates open the Tournament at home on Tuesday October 20 against #7 Lima Central Catholic (4-8-4)at 5:00. The winner will advance to the sectional final against #5 seed Ottoville with the game to be played at Ottoville on Saturday October 24 at 5:00.
Defending District Champ and last years Regional Runnerup Fort Jennings gained the #1 seed. The Musketeers have a 11-3 record. Bluffton (9-5-1) took the number 2 seed and chose not to take a bye. Neither seeds 3 Lima Temple Christian (9-2-3) or #4 Kalida (8-6) took a bye either. Byes were taken by #5 seed Ottoville (8-5) and #8 Lincolnview (5-7-4). Rounding out the field is #9 Miller City (4-11), #10 Spencerville (6-8-2), #11 Allen East (0-11-1), #12 New Knoxville (0-14), and Paulding (0-11-2). This is Paulding’s first year in the OHSAA tournament.
The tournament field includes the league leaders in the Northwest Conference (Bluffton), Putnam County League (Fort Jennings), and Lima Temple Christian (West Ohio Soccer League).
