A great pitching game for the Pirates by Rhettik Bowers went for naught as the Pirates could only get as far as third base on Tuesday night when they hosted Columbus Grove in a Putnam County League game. Both teams started the night with hopes of staying in the PCL title run and the Pirates still have a path to the championship that they control. The Bulldogs plated runs in the first, second and sixth while holding the Pirates without a run. Game was called with one out in the seventh due to weather. Bulldogs 3-1.
Jayden Pitney led the Pirates with a single and a pair of stolen bases. Haden Streicher hit a single and stole a base. Jackson Bidlack and Keenan Bowers both earned walks. Rhettik Bowers took the loss for the Pirates going 7 innings giving up 3 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, and 4 strikeouts. The Pirates committed 2 errors to the Bulldogs 1.
