On Tuesday night the host Continental Girls Varsity came out ready to play in the Putnam County League opener against Columbus Grove. The Pirates put in 10 points in the first quarter to the Bulldogs 8 leaving the Pirates with a 2 point advantage. The rest of the game went the Bulldogs way. Columbus Grove outscored the Pirates by 13 in the second quarter to take a 26-15 lead at half. The second half continued the Bulldog way as they outscored the Pirates by 8 in the third quarter. Bulldogs 41, Pirates 22 after 3. A 7 point Bulldog advantage in the fourth made it Columbus Grove 54, Continental 28 final.
Catelyn Etter led the Pirates with 10 points. Kerri Prowant, Madi Sharp, Madelyn Potts, and Addyson Armey all had 4 points. Katie Keller had 2 for the Pirates. The Pirates did not make a 3 point attempt.
Continental falls to 0-4 (0-1 PCL) and will host Tinora on Thursday. Columbus Grove is now 3-0 (1-0 PCL). Columbus Grove took the Junior Varsity game 38-9.
