Continental Local School is accepting applications for the position of Cafeteria Manager. This position is an eight-hour per day, 194-days per year position. The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for the operation of the food service program at Continental Local School.
Qualifications:
-ServSafe certification and HACCP training is required.
-Ten years of experience in school food service experience, several demonstrating increasing levels of managerial responsibility; or a combination of education and experience.
-Knowledge of nutritional requirements of the National School Lunch Program, Breakfast Program, and Summer Meal Program.
Specific Duties:
-Extensive spreadsheet experience required.
-Ability to work effectively with school personnel, subordinates, students, parents, and community groups.
-Ability and knowledge of sound leadership principles to supervise a large school multi-unit food service operation.
-Ability to provide direction.
-Take responsibility for making decisions and taking action.
-Knowledge of federal commodity program and the ability to ensure all reporting requirements are met.
-Knowledge of quantity food preparation and food merchandising.
-Ability to maintain the confidentiality of students, staff, and parents, regarding lunch accounts, including free and reduced lunch information.
-Knowledge of use and care of school kitchen equipment and utensils.
-Physical fitness, including lifting, and emotional stability to carry on the responsibilities of the job.
-Ability to coordinate and manage large banquet services.
-Ability to motivate staff to adapt to constant change(s).
-General knowledge of nutrient analysis software, menu planning, and inventory control.
-Perform other tasks and duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned or requested by Superintendent or designee.
-Must attend all required meetings and trainings.
