
Casey Gibson, talent acquisition strategist for Pontoon Solutions, has been named the recipient of the 2017 Young Alumni Service Award from his alma mater, Defiance College. This award recognizes young alumni of Defiance College whose lives exemplify high principles, who are outstanding leaders in profession and community, who bring honor to the College and demonstrate the promise of further distinction. It is also one of the highest honors the College bestows on alumni.
Casey has more than 11 years’ knowledge and experience in the Recruitment Process Outsourcing industry. He has been an Account Manager with leading total talent solutions provider, Pontoon Solutions, for eight years, leading a team of consultants who service several Fortune 500 clients to develop effective recruitment strategies to attract and screen talent. His efforts have yielded over 20,000 hires across 30 clients to date in his career. Casey is relied upon as a top campus and high-volume recruitment expert across the globe.
In 2016 alone, Casey and his team placed over 3,500 employees who fall in the poverty line in gainful employment. He is also responsible for placing hundreds of veterinary students into summer jobs relevant to their desired professions for the last 5 years. Casey cites his passion, integrity and ensuring his employees and colleagues have a supportive, fun, environment to work in as integral to his success.
Casey’s commitment and passion for matching the right employees to the right jobs has been pivotal in his role as an Adjunct Business Professor at Defiance College since 2013. Outside of his regular classroom instruction, he consults business students on resume writing, assists with their job search, and helps them understand behavioral interviewing techniques. Several students have been matched to their first job outside of Defiance College under Casey’s tutorage. Casey also serves on the College’s Alumni Executive Board.

This has been instrumental in my quest to make a difference in as many lives as I possibly can.”
Casey graduated from Defiance in 2005 with a major in Business Management. He also received his Master of Business and Organizational Leadership (2009) and his Master of Business Administration (2010) at Defiance College. As a student, Casey was a member of the Varsity Men’s Tennis Team, Choir, and College Community Band. He is also the co-founder of the DC Players and was instrumental in the organization’s official recognition by the College.
In his free time, Casey is an avid distance runner. In the past 12 months, Casey has completed a marathon, 16 half marathons, and has been a member of four Ragnar teams. He is a distance running coach at Dave’s Running Shop, specializing in beginning adults who wish to run their first 5k or half marathon with no experience. Casey has trained over 200 adults who have gone on to have very successful running careers. He has also participated in several events benefitting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
A native of Cloverdale, OH, Casey currently resides in Toledo, OH with his fiancé, Joshua Muller (Monroe, 2011), and their two daughters, Ella, 10, and Zoey, 6.
