CG State CC Champs, Ottoville Boys & OG Girls to State Soccer Semifinals

Saturday was a great day for Putnam County Fall sports as Columbus Grove brought home the DIII State Cross Country Championship trophy while Ottoville Boys and Ottawa Glandorf Girls Soccer teams qualified for State.
Cross Country
Columbus Gove took first place in the DIII State finals with 122 points.  Bulldog runners placed 6, 16, 26, 27, and 47.  Second place Mount Gilead took 3 placements in the top 10 to secure a big lead early in the race with a 1, 8, 10 placements.  The Indians #4 runner placed 50 allowing the Bulldogs to close and pass the Indians early lead.  Ottawa Glandorf took 5th in the DII Girls State Championship.  The Titans had 2 placements in the top 10, 5 & 10.  Minerva took first place with 144 points.  Minerva did not have a placement in the top 10.  The State Cross Country Championship were held at the Fortress and Memorial park in Obetz.
Boys Soccer
Ottoville, after securing a spot in the DIII Regional finals with a 4-0 win over Liberty Benton, found their way to State by defeating Kidron Central Catholic 1-0 at Clyde High School.  The Big Green will take on WILLOUGHBY ANDREWS OSBORNE  on Wednesday in a State Semifinal at Clyde High School.
Girls Soccer
Ottawa Glandorf completed their return to DIII State Semifinals by defeating Eastwood 3-0 in the Tiffin Regional Finals.  The Titans had advanced to the Regional Final by defeating Riverdale 5-0 on Tuesday.  The Titans will take on AKRON MANCHESTER on Tuesday in a State Semifinal gam at Shelby High School.
