
GAINESVILLE, FL — Charles Gaylord “Chuck” Myers, 87, died October 10, 2018 in a hospice facility in Gainesville, Florida. He was born May 6,1931, in Findlay to the late Gaylord W. and Janet (Edwards) Myers of Continental.
Chuck was a lieutenant colonel in the US Air Force where he was a hospital administrator and saw action in Vietnam. After retirement he enjoyed a hobby building houses in central Florida.
He attended Kalida Elementary School, Vaughnsville High School, Ohio Wesleyan University, and the University of Minnesota. He played varsity basketball on winning teams in both high school and college.
He is survived by his wife Eugenie (Victoria) Myers of Archer, Florida, his daughter Nancy Myers Gotsch of Archer, and his son Daniel Gaylord Myers of Jackson, Wyoming. Surviving grandchildren are Chazz, Victoria, Lorissa, Teddy, and Wesley Gotsch of Archer and William Daniel Koa Myers of Jackson. A surviving brother, Bill Myers, lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three daughters – Lori, Linda and Natalie Myers, and a brother, John Edwards Myers. Both parents were descendants of pioneer Putnam County families.
No plans for a memorial service have been announced. Memorial gifts may be made to the Putnam County Historical Society.
