October and November are busy months for the Christ United Methodist Church congregation and friends. Planning meetings and prep work – making their lists and checking it twice! (does that sound familiar?) The annual Community Turkey Supper which is still held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This group knows what needs to be done to serve nearly 800 meals, they have been doing it for over 80 years. 500 pounds of turkey, 100 loaves of bread, 60 pounds of cold slaw, 64 pounds of sugar, 10 pounds of onions, 55 gallons of corn cut off the cob, six roaster each of potatoes and gravy – just some of the ingredients for the 2016 Turkey Supper. Make plans to join them for the annual Turkey Supper on Saturday, November 19 at 4:00pm. Cost is by donation and all proceeds benefit the United Methodist Women’s mission projects.
