The 18th annual Christopher M. Potts Memorial Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, September 13 at Country Acres Golf Club in Kalida. Shotgun starts are at 7:30am and 1:30pm. Cost is $65 per person and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, food, on-course beverages, door prizes, par three contests, optional team skins game, and putting contest. The Christopher M. Potts Memorial Golf Scramble is the primary fundraiser for the Christopher M. Potts Memorial Scholarship — On June 28, 1997, we lost our family member and friend, Chris Potts, in an automobile accident. Chris graduated from Continental High School on June 1, 1997. He was an honor student who earned an academic scholarship to St. Joseph’s College, an athlete who was respected by his teammates and coaches for his dedication and determination, but most of all Chris will be remembered as a kind person with a ready smile, a friend to all who knew him. To honor him, the Christopher M Potts Memorial Scholarship was established by his family and friends. This scholarship is awarded annually to one Continental High School senior and one Kalida High School senior who demonstrates the high moral character, academic standards and leadership skill that Chris demonstrated.
