The selection committee for the Christopher M. Potts Memorial Scholarship has chosen Mikayla Mayes from Continental High School and Evan Roebke from Kalida High School as the 2020 recipients of this $2000 college scholarship.
The Christopher M. Potts Memorial Scholarship was established out of love and respect for Chris Potts, a 1997 Continental High School graduate who died in an automobile accident on June 28th, 1997. Chris inspired and brought forth the best in everyone he knew. His friends and family hope to continue the touching of lives by this fine young man through this scholarship which is awarded annually to one CHS and KHS senior who demonstrate high moral character, strong academic commitment and leadership skills that Chris exemplified.
Mikayla, a senior at Continental High School, is the daughter of Eugene and Michelle Mayes. Mikayla plans to attend Purdue University @ Fort Wayne and major in Interior Design. Evan, a senior at Kalida High School, is the son of Joe and Lisa Roebke. Evan has chosen to attend the University of Toledo to pursue a degree in Bioengineering and Exercise Science.
