
On Thursday Lincolnview High baseball team took an early lead and held off the host Pirates. The Lancers opened the game up with a pair of runs in the first and second innings. The Pirates would battle back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third to make it 4-2 after 3. The Lancer would put up the next 5 runs with 3 in the fourth and 2 in the fifth to make it 9-2. The Pirates would score in the bottom of the fifth and that run was matched by the Lancer in the top of the sixth. Lancer led 10-3 heading into the final inning. The Lancer put the game away with 5 runs in the seventh to win the game 15-3.
Gannon Prowant was the Pirate pitcher of record as he went 4.1 innings. Jarret Keck and Cole Bowers pitched in the relief. The Lancers kept the Pirates off balance by putting 7 different pitchers on the mound. Brady Dockery led the Pirates with 2 hits and scored 2 runs. Konnor Okuley, Nick States, Blake Elkins, Cole Bowers, and Gannon Prowant all had 1 hit for the Pirates. States, Elkins, and Keck all hit a double for the Pirates.
Continental falls to 1-3 and host Fairview on Saturday in a double header. Lincolnview improves to 6-1.
