From the Continental Pirates Baseball Facebook page on Friday, April 15:
The Pirates struggled at the beginning of the game and eventually lost to Hicksville, 16-3 this evening. The Aces have a fine baseball team, and there were good points to the game on our side- particularly Continental’s 3-run 5th inning.
Highlights- Seniors Terry Dockery III went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, Saige Deleon went 1-for-3 with an RBI double. (Saige also started an inning-ending DP by catching a bunt pop up in the 1st.) Fred Shepard collected the other hit in a 1-for-3 game. Steven Huizenga and Konnor Okuley keyed the big inning by drawing 1-out walks to start the rally.
Continental will try to even its PCL record on Monday in a home game vs. Kalida at 5:00 pm.
