CHS Boys & Girls Track in the OHSAA Div III Archbold District

April 10, 2019 by Karen Donaldson

Not much change is what awaits the Continental High Track teams as they travel to the Division III Archbold District Track Meet.  The Girls are once again a 24 team field that was divided into two 12 team Districts.  Continental will be in the Girls Archbold District 2.  The Pirates are joined with  Putnam County League rival Leipsic in a field that will compete against 7 teams from the Green Meadows Conference (Edgerton was assigned to District 1) Antwerp, Ayersville, Fairview, Hicksville, Holgate, Tinora, Wayne Trace.  Paulding, Liberty Center, and Patrick Henry finish up the Girls District 2 field.  Last year Liberty Center ran away with the Girls District Title with 134.5 points while runner up Fairview had 74 points.  The top 4 in each event will move onto the Tiffin Regional Track meet.

A twenty team field will be at the Boys Division III Archbold District with Miller City being added the only change to the field.  The Boys have 2 Putnam County League teams, Continental and Miller City in the field.  The entire Green Meadows Conference (Antwerp, Ayersville, Edgerton, Fairview, Hicksville, Holgate, Tinora, Wayne Trace) and Buckeye Border Conference (Fayette, Hilltop, Montpelier, North Central, Edon, Pettisville, Stryker) headline the field making up 15 of the 20 teams.  Liberty Center, Delta and Patrick Henry round out the field.  Liberty Center was the winner of the 2018 Archbold District with 134 points while Edon was second with 66 points.  The top 4 in each event will move onto the Tiffin Regional

Putnam County rivals Ottoville, Kalida, and Fort Jennings are in the Spencerville District and will advance to the Troy Regionals.   Columbus Grove, Pandora and Leipsic Boys will compete in the Findlay District and will advance to the Tiffin Regional

District Preliminaries are on Thursday May 16 starting at 3:00 while the District finals are on Saturday May 19 starting at 9:00.
