Pirates 1, Bath Wildcats 1
Tuesday night saw Continental High open up their first season as an OHSAA Division Boys Soccer Division V school as they hosted Division IV Lima Bath. A close game with limited shots on goal had the Pirates hitting the back of the net first with Collin Davis scoring and Bain Stegbauer picking up the assist with 2 minutes left in the first half. The Wildcats picked up the tying goal 2 1/2 minutes into the second half. It was a clean sheet after that. Pirates Wildcats 1 all tie.
Jayden Pitney was the goalie for the Pirates and he had 2 saves. The Pirates had 7 shots on goal to the Wildcats 3. The Wildcats had 8 corner kicks while the Pirates had 5.

Pirates 1, OG Titans 2
A goal in each of the halves by visiting Ottawa Glandorf was enough to defeat Continental on Thursday. In an action packed game it was the Titans who put in the only goal in the first half as they found the back of the net just under 14 minutes into the game. The Pirates would tie the score with 30:35 left when they moved the ball down the sideline and ended up with Jackson Bidlack passing to the center of the penalty box and Quinn Tegenkamp one-touched the ball into the net. Tie 1-1. With 25:30 the Pirates gained a man advantage when the Titans picked up a red card. A couple key plays by the Titan goalie and a Titan direct kick that hit the top crossbar left the score tied with 4:45 left. At that point in the game the Titans took a rocket shot outside the penalty area and flew past the Pirate goalie into the net. The Pirates had a number of chances to tie the game as it was winding down but no shots hit the back of the net.
Quinn Tegenkamp scored 1 goal for the Pirates while Jackson Bidlack picked up an assist. Continental had a 4-3 advantage on shots on goal. Jayden Pitney was the Pirates goalie. Continental had a 4-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Continental’s first season as a DV team now has a 0-1-1 record against DIV teams. The Pirates will travel to Delta on Saturday. Ottawa Glandorf improves to 1-0-1.
