Eclipse is Eliza Rodgers’ first acting role. This eighth grader is the daughter of Jessica and Austin Burkholder, and Alexander Rodgers. She is also involved in junior high band, marching band, and junior high choir. Right now, her favorite song is Heart Ablaze. Although this is the first time she’s been involved with the drama department, Eliza is finding that she enjoys acting.
May 10, 1994: A lunar eclipse’s path of totality sweeps across the United States, and Americans of all kinds look to the future for love, success, a first shot, a second chance, and more. In a series of sweet and hopeful snapshots, a teenager works up the nerve to talk to their crush, a window washer feels inspired by Romeo and Juliet, a Radio Shack customer discovers new technology, and an amateur investigator looks for signs of alien life. Each character is changed by the once-in-a-generation eclipse, a reminder of our connection to the cosmos and each other.
Eclipse will be presented at the Irene Casteel Auditorium on Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8 at 7 pm with a matinee on Sunday, November 9 at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and junior/high school students, and $5 for all others, and will be available at the door.
