Editor’s note: I’m not a theater critic in any way but this performance by the Continental Drama Department deserves a review!
On Friday evening, the 4 person cast of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane shared the intriguing and wonderfully told story of the life of a toy rabbit made of china and cloth. Jayden Reynolds, Kimberly Grant, Maverick Grant and Kaelyn Clementz were flawless in their delivery. Maverick played the part of Edward (the rabbit) while the other three performers took the role of various characters who came and went in the life of Edward. The uniquely bare stage was remeniscent of a play I attended many, many years ago in Chicago. Kudos also to the production staff for making a simple stage on the floor of the Irene Casteel Auditorium have such a impact.
Please don’t miss this production – the cast has worked many hours for this performance, learning their lines to near perfection. The play is only a mere 70 minutes long. No intermission, so get the popcorn on your way in. You have two more opportunities to catch this performance – Saturday @ 7pm and Sunday @ 2:30pm. Thank you in advance for supporting the Continental Drama Department! I give it a two thumbs up!
