CHS Pirates 2026 Baseball Final

June 22, 2026 by Adam Donaldson

Continental High Baseball had their best season win-wise since COVID with 6 wins.  The Pirates finished in a tie for fifth with Leipsic with a 3-4 record in Putnam County League play.  The Pirates tournament trail ended with an 11-0 loss to Miller City in the DVII Sectional Final.  The Wildcats season ended in the District final with McComb taking the title 3-2.  The Wildcats and Columbus Grove tied for the PCL Crown at 6-1, Kalida was second at 5-2 and Fort Jenning was third at 4-3.  Leipsic ended Kalida’s season in the DVII District Final.  Columbus Grove season ended in the District Semifinals.  Miller City was ranked #7 in the last OHSBCA DVII poll while Kalida was 8th and Columbus Grove was ranked 12 in DVI.  Leipsic was ranked earlier in the year but dropped out toward the end of the season then waited till tournament to shine.  The Vikings were defeated by our Pirates late in the regular season.  The Vikings claimed a wild DVII Regional final when the came back and defeated Montpelier 6-5.  Three runs in the seventh secured the Vikings comeback highlighted the second run scoring on a third baseman interference.  The Vikings made it back to state after a 50 year lapse.  The Vikings walked off their State Semifinal game against South Webester when they put a runner on base following a 2 out dropped third strike.  This runner scored to claim the 11-10 win.  Delphos St John ended the Viking Magic with a 10-0 win in the State Finals.  Great Job Pirates and PCL.
